I always feel guilty when I cheat. I'm such a nerd. Anyway, this is from yesterday's shoot with the fireplace. it was between this, and an Atlas Van Lines truck...which was honestly a boring picture. So anyway, I love the flames, they're a little blurry but thats the nature of fire.

Day 20: Fire & Flames
Day 19: Burnt
Well, this is certainly a change from the rest of the pictures this week, i actually like this one. i really do! i think that the warm hue of the picture and the burnt paper gives the idea of a fire having just been started (which it was) and the matches laying one over the other convey kind of a "worn" or tired emotion to me. I don't know, i just really like this one...
Day 18: Chrome
Day 17: Scholar
Day 16: Lighting

Day 15: Believe
Yes. This is what you think it is. It's a flying walking stick. I suppose that makes it a flying stick... Anyway, Trevor threw it, and i took the picture, and the little sunburst in the corner made it look very cool. So there it is, a flying piece of polished wood used for supporting oneself on a long hike. Inspiring isn't it?
Day 14: Daddy's Little Girl
This is about the cutest picture ever, but its a real shame its not higher resolution. It was taken in the parking lot of Starbucks from about 20 feet away, so it was dark, grainy, and had to be cropped a huge amount to get in this close, but it still turned out ok... This is someone most of you know, and his 3 year old daughter. For his own privacy i wont say his name, but i will say he plays a major role in youth ministries at New Life. If you would like to know his name, just email me. Either way, i really like it. The little girl seems to be floating off the ground in excitement...
Day 13: Crow
Ok, I admit it, i cheated :) I took this picture on the 20th, but since i took no pictures today i had to find something to put up! This is a crow, it was one of about 50 that flew through our backyard on the day of my nature hike. . They actually inspired my to take that walk. I didn't get to show these pictures off because i was so focused on my pictures from the hike, so this is one of the 80-90 pictures i got of them, it is heavily cropped and taken at full 7.5x zoom, so he was farther away than he looks.
Day 12: Starbucks
Mom took me to Starbucks after school today, so i took a few pictures with my HP camera. I eventually found out that the in-camera flash is hot enough to melt plastic wrappers on saltine crackers when it fires. Mom wasn't too happy about the loud "POP" and then the smell of burning plastic coming from my camera :)

Day 9: Neo
I took a two hour hike out to the fields around our house. There is still about 2 feet of snow everywhere, so i was soaked from the knees down by the time i took this picture towards the end of my hike. It was taken on a tripod using a remote with my D80. I took a total of 475 Pictures and had a lot of fun. This was taken near an old shack that i suspect was built around 1984 judging by stickers on a gate nearby. If you click to see the full view, you can see the reflection of the beautiful untouched field of snow behind the camera in my glasses.

Day 8: Hot Hot Hot!
Well, at about 9PM i realized that i didn't have a picture for today, in fact i spent about 80% of my day on Dad's new tablet Vista laptop... Anyway, i realize i have no picture, so i ask my mom the first question that comes to my head, "do we have any flammable liquor?" And she says, "well probably, but it might be to old to use anymore," and out of nowhere she opens this kitchen cupboard whose existence i haven't noticed my whole life. so, after that she pulls out the most random collection of old liquors that likely haven't been touched in 20 years, from American Rum to Vodka. Boy, the things you don't realize your parents own.... Anyway, she was right, none of them lit, so she went back downstairs and told me not to play with fire anymore. Naturally, i found the closest thing to fire, without necessarily being "fire." The picture for today is the result, It's a stove burner taken with my D80.

Day 7: Pikes Peak at Sunrise
I looked at the sunrise as a raced to get my school supplies out to the car at 7 AM this morning and thought to myself "wow, that looks beautiful" and of course, that meant that i had to run and get my camera, so i ran in, grabbed the d80, took 4 pictures, and this was the only one of the bunch that turned out un-blurry. I'm not that fond of it, but i dont have any of the peak yet, so this fills that gap. Check out my Experiments in photography for some cool floating people pictures that i took today. Yay for making it to Day 7!

Day 1: Almost Done
Here is my first picture! Dad and I built a Lego tractor over the course of the last two days. Mom has been in Florida helping with a cousin, so we entertained ourselves with this. :)
The picture is of dad holding one of the last pieces to go on the model. It is intensionally grainy as i took it at ISO 3200 on the D80.
Beginings
Well here it is, 2008!
I am a little late, as it is already the 12th, but i suppose i can just go until Jan12 2009 :p
This is an interesting project for me, as i just got a new Nikon D80 which is my first dSLR for Christmas. This should let me learn a little more about it, and yet still have occasional use for my old HP r967.
Well i cant wait to begin! My post for today should be up in a bit!
