Once every four years, a special day is created so all the other days get a break. its on February 29th and its called Leap Day. Hence the picture of me leaping. It was taken with a work light ($12.95 from Home Depot) off to the side to provide that nice warm golden glow.
a great photographer once said "gotta love scoring photo gear from the big orange store!"

Day 46: L-o-v-e
aw man, no pictures today. oh well, heres one from day 39. I made it with a long exposure and an LED light keychain. my favorite part is the light switch on the side. which is in the on position, ironically enough. wouldn't it be cool if you could turn a floating set of blue LED words on and off with a switch?

Day 44: Dry Ice
Ok, i know that your wondering what this is. I know it looks like a plastic sphere, but its not. its smoke. smoke in a bubble. yes, you heard me right. Now here 's how i did it: i took dry ice (which can be obtained from your local grocery store for $1.50), put it in that blue cup with some hot water, and it started smoking. Then, being the genius that I am (and having watched this on youtube), i added some dish soap, and played with it until i got it to form one bubble. the picture is the result. now go try it yourself!

Day 43: Sun
This was taken at f/14 at ISO 100 for 1/4000th of a second, which in simplest terms is pretty much as dark as you can get a picture. Yes, the round white thing is a sun. No, the clouds were not red at all at the time, but the exposure caused them to look red compared to the sun... which is very white.

Day 41: Moon
This is a picture i took last night just after the full eclipse. it was a little cloudy, hence the light lining just outside the moon's edges... but i didn't take a picture today, so i couldn't resist using this one. I cropped it with the rule of thirds in mind. Definitely worth viewing the full picture (clicky).

Day 39: Snowy Sadie
Mom woke my up nice and early this morning and told me to grab my camera. i only got about 10 pictures of Sadie covered in snow, but this one turned out exceptionally well. i believe we own the cutest dog on earth. I also plan to use this picture as an example of an animal portrait in my speech this week.

Day 38: Crow
This was taken in monument around 4PM. I had been following crows all around downtown monument for about 2 hours because my mother was at the laundromat. This was one of the last pictures i took before they all flew off down to Colorado Springs. I had a lot of fun following them, and got about 400-500 pictures...
Oh, and today i figured out how to edit post times, so from now on my posts will look like they were posted on the correct date, even though i may be a week late... yay!

Day 37: Post Sunrise
Please view the full image! (click on it)
This is the most beautiful picture I have ever taken. I say that without hesitation, and I really really like it. Admittedly, it's not as great here as it as in full size (14000x2500, 35 MP!), but I couldnt post the full thing due to size issues. It is a panorama composed of 10 images, each overlapping half of the other, which means that 100 million pixels went into making the final 35 million pixel image. I got the inspiration from a few Garden of the Gods pictures I saw at a Photo Gallery in the mall. Hope you like it! I like it so much I think I will have it printed...

Day 29: Night Lights
This is the 16th street mall in Denver at about 6:00pm. It was beautiful, so naturally, I took a picture!
Update from late April 2008: This picture won Evening of the Arts 2008 at my school!!! I can't believe it! I printed it out 20x20 for about $25 and matted it using some old poster board I found around the house and it won!!!
Day 28: Only
Day 27: Retro
Found this rack of awesome papers in Hobby Lobby, this is just two of the 50-some racks. pretty sweet. it was like retro heaven. its where i got the papers i used for the wall and floor in my Self Portrait.
Day 26: GoG
Day 25: Patriotism
Day 24: Slippery Steps
Day 23: Old Friend
Well, This is where i spent about 80% of my time between the ages of 8 and 12. For inquiring minds, its Mick's house. I won't go into detail on him, but we were great friends up until about 2 years ago, when everything fell apart. Anyway, i spent a lot of time here, and today was my first time back in about 3 years...
Day 22: Eerie
I was out shopping at Walmart when i noticed that there were low lying clouds covering the whole mountain range, so when i got home i went up on the rock behind my house and took this.
Setup: The rock light was on, causing the tree to glow. The background mistyness is the colors of city lights on the low clouds. The yellow light on the left is from the Air Force Football Field. The center white-ness is the new shopping center with Walmart and home-depot. The red-ness on the right is from Monument. Cool eh?
