Today I saw my cousin Kate graduate high school. It was really fun to see them all in outfit throwing their hats up, but what I enjoyed most were the speeches. All 4 kids that got up to speak and commemorate that occasion for their whole class did excellent. One of the speeches was composed completely of quotes from Beetles songs, which I thought was awesome, although they failed to include a quote from the song "I Am The Walrus." Apparently someone in the class thought it would be fun to use silly string to set this class apart from the rest since after all, they are known as the silly string class... Anyway, in the picture you can see some of the hats starting to go up in the air, and of course a multitude - a plethora - of silly string. The field was covered with it 30 seconds later, as were the students.
Moving On...
Update: I got a Pro Flickr account with the money I made from Prom Portraits, and so I'm planning to post a lot to there for now as I figure out the details for my official photography site.

i'm going to my school's graduation today... i don't remember if i told you. but i don't think they're going to use silly string - my school district has their graduations at Safeco Field, also known as the Mariner's home field. So no silly string for us :( I'm going to be there for like, 4 hours. we get there at 3 and leave at 7.
Anyway,
this is a cool picture. it's fun seeing the mix of silly string and caps. :]
Graduation time -- takes all of us back to some memories -- either of our own graduations -- or of those close to us. Sounds like this one was especially cool for you and your family. GREAT picture -- definitely captured the excitement and chaos!
That's a LOT of silly string! One of my cousins just graduated out of a class of about 600, and yes the speeches were the best...although I must admit after the first 200 kids walked across the stage they all began to look the same...Unti of course Bill (my cuz)one of the tallest there, finally had his turn- it was awesome:) ANd yes there were hundreds of hats in the air, but unfortunately, no silly string...I guess people in Minnesota are just more creative....dang
