Moving On...

Update: I got a Pro Flickr account with the money I made from Prom Portraits, and so I'm planning to post a lot to there for now as I figure out the details for my official photography site.

Portfolio's up! But I use flickr mostly now...

So without further delay, here are my two shiney new URL's:

Update Update (Feb 07th 2012): HI! I still check this blog every once in awhile. It's fun to have an archive of my first Project 365 still hanging out on blogspot. Cool.

Anyway, in case anyone is wondering, my web home base is now stevemoraco.com - Simple enough right?

Day 358: The Last of The Holidays

That title's mostly because I've really got to be done with all the Christmas shots. I waited till after Christmas to get any and It's way past Christmas now, so this will be my last Christmas-themed shot of the year. It's an HDR of one of my favorite ornaments on our tree, a German snowman. I know, it's random. The reason I picked it was that a year ago around this time, when I had just gotten my D80 and hadn't yet started my Project 365, so the picture never got posted anywhere but Flickr. I really liked it, and this year instead of doing a long-exposure snowman shot, I went for the HDR snowman shot. It turns out that Christmas tree HDR's turn out REALLY well. I had a fun time shooting pretty much every inch of my Christmas trees and I even got 10 or so good HDR composites out of it.

Hey Steve, looks like you've got some new observers! This tiny snowman captures the spirit, even if he is carrying a german flag ;) As I'm looking at it -- it looks pretty normal - granted the lighting is dimmed, the tree lights kind of have a more sparkly quality. Is all that achieved with the HDR?

Now, that is just plain CUTE. He seems to have a lone spot on the tree, just a bit of tinsel and a few sparkly lights, but no companion ornaments! Christmas tree and HDR, sounds like you had a blast with that combination.
